The vintage MicroMix solo achieves a perfect, clear and intelligible vocal pickup with great dynamics, power and muffled bass.

Set the MicroMix to your instrument and microphone by unscrewing the 4 screws on the back panel :

  For static microphone
Using high output gain microphone like Neumann U87, may require switching the attenuator in the MicroMix, switch the medium cut filter and increase high frequencies a little.
Basic configuration :
SW2 :  1=ON  2=OFF
SW8 :  1=OFF  2=OFF  3=ON  4=OFF  5=ON  6=OFF  7=OFF  8=ON

An external phantom power supply should be added to power the microphone (the MicroMix will be powered by the sound card).

  For dynamic microphone
RE20, SM7 ou SM58 for exemple, cut medium and increase high frequencies.
Basic configuration :
SW2 :  1=ON  2=OFF
SW8 :  1=OFF  2=ON  3=ON  4=OFF  5=ON  6=OFF  7=OFF  8=ON

  For ribbon microphone 
when using a ribbon mic, if you sing very close, bass frequencies will be too loud in the recording. Switch the LoCut filter to decrease low frequencies, cut medium and increase high frequencies.
Basic configuration :
SW2 :  1=ON  2=OFF
SW8 :  1=OFF  2=ON  3=OFF  4=OFF  5=OFF  6=OFF  7=OFF  8=ON

MicroMix achieves a clear vocal recording with high gain.

You can test several configurations, to choose your best recording sound quality.

then close the box, the MicroMix will keep your configuration :

For a static microphone (like Neumann U87), with an external phantom supply for the microphone and the audio card phantom supply for the MicroMix,

 the with Led +48V is ON.
